The only explanation I could come up with is a red bat could leave a mark on a ball which would necessitate any batted ball from being removed from the game which would mean more balls used and more money spent.  I got that explanation by reviewing MLBs infamous Pine Tar Incident from the 70s.

Both Baltimore and Martella's advance making the shameful ruling by the AAABA National Committee on the equally shameful and classless protest filed by the losing team on Monday moot.

Nice crowd last night for game three but it was a quiet, nearly dead crowd.  Which teams still have a fresh, quality starting pitcher available for today's games?

Martella will throw Supanick tomorrow night against New Orleans, with Walker for the Championship game Sat. Or a day later if weather postpones. Looking good! Carpenter's- not that deep. Not sure who they might throw against Zanesville.

This is one and done now I thought? Your wording makes it sound like they'll be playing Saturday even if they lose?? Why not Walker tonight?

Yes,  but the protest had a big effect.  Baltimore would've played Maryland State last night and Johnstown would have had New Orleans. So yes the protest had a big impact. New Orleans by far is the best team in the tournament .

You're absolutely right.  And Walker has had an additional day of rest since they were the only game on Monday.  But he is not fully rested today but would be to pitch tomorrow.

Please drop the 2 year pool experiment and revert to the old bracket.

Would Martella's have had a better team if they could have picked up players from Paul Carpenter's?

I remember a franchise that is no longer would often win the league and not take players from the second place team since the were rivals. Always thought that was interesting.
