What is your reasoning for removing the three point line ?

I don’t think it promotes good basketball.  If that line isn’t there how many players would chuck up shots from that distance?

The 3-point line opens up a lot more and gets all five players involved, it's a more free flowing game now than pre-3 point line where the game was dominated by whoever had the tallest players.  Basketball is a game of skill and athleticism, not just who has the biggest guy.

Taking away the 3 point line would be like taking away the forward pass in football.....just never going to happen.

But back to the shot clock, I don't think it's necessary, but I don't think it would hurt the game either.

Agree that the 3-point shot isn't going away, I disagree strongly that its good for game. How is there more flow when 4 sometimes 5 guys are just standing around the arc. And I'd guess the overall shooting % of 3s is closer to 20-25% in a HS game, not 30-35%, which isn't good either.

Haven't seen a game where a shot clock would make a difference, but I can see where a stall strategy would be annoying.

One argument pro shot clock when i asked friends and former players around Washington, which has a shotclock, is that it makes switching over to college basketball a bit easier at first.

That said, I'm warming up to a warning for stalling with clear criteria for when the specter of freezing the ball rears it's head. Not that often but when it does, something can stop it. Works fine for wrestling.

thats a little vague!!

Someone will get an itchy trigger finger and chuck up a three or turn the ball over or a foul will be committed.  I don’t think a shot clock is necessary at this level.

thats actually good logic

Last nights Everett/Bishop Canevin girls game started the 4th quarter with BC holding the ball for the first 5 minutes with neither team taking a shot. BC had the ball and Everett came out in a zone. BC had a 3 point lead and wanted to force Everett to go man. 5 minutes rolled off the clock until Everett did indeed go man.

Appreciate the stubbornness for both coaches there.
