Wisconsin beat a MAC team.  Let that one sink in for awhile.  By the way, if people didn't have the day off most people wouldn't have watched the games because they don't mean anything since the playoff games were over.

-6-6 Indiana had to play 9-3 Utah out west
-6-6 Northwestern had to play 8-4 Pitt in the Northeast
-Michigan had to play Florida State essentially on the road
-Penn State had to play USC 12 miles from their campus
-Iowa who finished 3rd in the B1G west had to play Florida in Florida who won the SEC East
-Minnesota B1G West #4 had to play Washington State PAC North #2 in San Francisco
-Nebraska had to play Tennessee in Tennessee
-Wisconsin played one of the country's only 2 undefeated teams.

To be honest, I think the B1G played quite well in the bowl season.

Honestly it would be like if Wisky played Kentucky in Green Bay, Michigan played Kansas State, Penn State played USC in Philadelphia, Iowa played NC State in Indiana, Nebraska played Tennessee in Omaha, Ohio State played UCLA in Pittsburgh.

That would be the exact reverse script as to what the B1G was up against in the bowl games. Do be so intellectually shallow and not actually understand what the B1G conference is up against in the bowl games.

You make a compelling case but the big 10 was suppose to be heads above the other conferences. Their 3 top teams all lost.

Its clear they are closer to pac 12 lvl than the best of the rest.

Is it time to start holding bowls in Green Bay, Des Moines and Erie to help give the Big Bad Ten more of a home field advantage?

Totally ridiculous!

They hold one in NYC and Detroit.  I'm not saying change the system but you have got to also account for the fact that the B1G builds teams to compete in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota in November but then have to play bowl teams in 70 degree Florida, Texas, and California weather. Not to mention the teams they play more often than not have a few hour bus trip to the game. You just can't pretend this isn't a disadvantage the conference faces.

Florida can recruit and implement a completely different style of offense knowing their coldest game of the year may be in the mid 50s as compared to Minnesota who know half their schedule will be played in 25 degree weather, blustering winds, and some form of frozen precipitation.

Doesn't the Big Ten Conference align themselves with certain bowl games each year? The Big Ten teams KNOW what they're getting into when the accept a bowl invitation. To say they have a disadvantage because of "home field" approximation by their opponent is just an excuse. Most teams have SEVERAL weeks to prepare for their bowl opponent. If they are not prepared, then too bad.

sort of:  http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/big10/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2014-15/misc_non_event/Bowl_Determination_Procedures.pdf
That said, I dont buy the north/south advantage thing. It isn't like Bama/LSU/FSU have 265 pound DTs/OTs/...the only difference is they don't really have to travel. To me, that isn't much of an advantage.
