I don't think your first two statements are very accurate.  But the last one is certainly true, nowhere to go but up.

What I find most amusing about Pitt and its fans is how much adored Pat Narduzzi is following a 5-7 season that included losses to Syracuse and a 2-10 North Carolina team.  It was Pitt’s worst season since the great Dave Wannstedt, who inherited an 8-4 team, led Pitt to a 5-7 season in his third year.  It would only take Wannstedt four years and the decimation of the Big East and creation of the Big Least to again make Pitt what it had been under Walt Harris.

Last years team was young with a jumbled QB situation, but Narduzzi took a fair amount of heat during the season last year anyway.

His 21 wins in his first three seasons are the most for a Pitt coach since Jackie Sherill, so overall he’s been doing a pretty good job. He followed Paul Chryst’s 3 year run of 6-6 every year. So to start with a pair of 8 win seasons was very much welcomed.  His recruiting has been better than Chryst and he has an actual personality which seems to resonate with fans.

Often times new coaches are compared to their direct predessecors, and that can help ones perception.

Graham/Chryst following Wanny - people didn’t like those guys as much since they weren’t Wanny

Duzz following Chryst - people seem to like it.
Stallings following Dixon - we saw what happened there

Anyone following Stallings - my guess the new coach will have a pretty decent honeymoon period.

What the heck happened to the Big Ten this year? Only 4 entries to the Big Dance. And, by the way, Boston College is in the NIT with a season that got them 19 wins. Only 2 years ago they were winless in the ACC (and did not change their coach).

That's great for Boston College, Jim Christian's winning percentage at Boston College is now .369. He can win 30 games next year and still won't be at .500 for his career through five seasons.  I think you'd have to assume if he misses the tournament next year, he will be out a job.  5 seasons and 1 NIT won't be enough.

Baby steps. And with that theory, I guess Pat Chambers might be in trouble

The whole bracket might be the worst we have seen in a long while for the tourney.

USC, ok state, notre dame, saint marys not in??

Oklahoma, Arizona State, syracuse are in???

SEC with 8 teams? They royally messed up IMO

If Trae Young isn’t on the Oklahoma team and they finish with the same record they don’t make the tourney. This is the only time a team went 2-8 in the last 10 games and made it....
