I think it would have been a good thing for Pitt if Luther stuck around, since he was only on the books for one year, and they could have flipped his scholarship quickly.  But I don't blame him, he was a good student, graduated, Pitt was a mess for the past three years, I don't blame him for looking at other options.

Michigan and Maryland were also suitors for Luther. I think Michigan would have been a better fit, seems like a player that could work in Beilein's system.

Pitt just landed #80 recruit in the country, Trey McGowens 4 star PG. Pitt's first top 100 recruit since 2014 (Michael Young). Not a bad first get for Jeff Capel.

But yeah they should've stuck with Stallings! Lol

Really hope Capel brings life back to the Pitt hoops program!

Capel seems to be aiming high with who he is offering to this point. A lot of 4 and 5 Star types.  Landing one was a good start for him.  I think he can get them back to respectability soon.

Nice jab at Stallings. At least he would have kept Carr, Stewart, Luther and Ellison.

Maybe, I heard Stewart and Carr may have been leaving either way. Ellison still may return.

Either way, Capel's first recruit is a very good one.

Yesterday Pat Chambers got a commitment from Top 100 and former Memphis commit Myreon Jones. Today Chambers picked up a 4 year contract extension. Good week for Pat.

Under contract for 2018-2019 already, he was given a modest 3 year extension keeping him thru 2021-2022. No other terms were released.

Just wondering. Been almost a month now and the terms of Pat Chambers new contract extension have still not been released to the public. Last season, Chambers salary ranked last of all 14 Big Ten head basketball coaches. Any news?

I don’t like how Pitt and Penn State do not really disclose how much the coaches are paid. Always tough to figure out what they are making.
