Heard Watkins is a criminology major. They should have at least made him change that to something else.

Not exactly basketball, but...…
From the Black Shoe Diaries today: "PSU highly touted freshman Rasheed Walker was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. According to the Centre Daily Times, he admitted to the police that he stole a bike valued at $150, because he did not feel like walking back from the Lasch Football Building to his dorm. Neither the PSU athletic department nor the football program have commented on the story. The preliminary hearing is set for Oct 31. HE WILL LIKELY HAVE TO WALK A TIGHT LINE GOING FORWARD"....Are you kidding? Walk the straight and narrow? Maybe he should start hanging out with Mike Watkins. His hearing seemed to disappear into thin air.

Fire Franklin! He’s lost control of his program.

You missed the point. It's about skirting the issues in the athletic department, not about football per se.

Hey, what's new in PSU men's basketball, you ask? From today's Daily Collegian, Mike Watkins is in trouble again, the second time this off-season. Seems he was in McDonalds (same one where Talor Battle's brother got into a fight several years ago?) at 2AM on September 29th when he cut in line. When confronted about it, he punched a man in the face. He has been cited for disorderly conduct. Earlier this June, he was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. In 2017 and 2016 he had run-ins with the law. No report has been stated on how this latest incident will be handled. Really? Heck, they did nothing in June. Why do anything now?

I found it ironic that when this latest incident first hit the news, a 'spokesman' for the "misguided youth" was basically alibi-ing for him saying it was because of his inner city environment and upbringing. Really. So thats supposed to give him a free pass? A "Get out of jail FREE card" as it were?

Good point Manfred. How many D-1 college basketball players are there in the NCAA? How many of these players grew up in poor life situations? Why aren't we seeing people throughout college towns being punched in the face because of it? In yesterdays Media Day session. Chambers cited Watkins upbringing as part of the problem, and is afraid of Mike ending up in the streets. The kid turned 23 years old in August. He's not some 18 year old away from home for the first time. He's a bad egg. And if he was a third stringer, he'd be gone.
