Just blocking you both now...

Whoa, Kimosabe, WHAT exactly did I have to say on this topic?  I've been avoiding it.

No, it's a sign I don't like red, especially in triplicates.  Please consign your love affair with + and - to the hockey threads.

Just got home from church. Thought konjo was blocking Manfred and me? AGAIN, when did I blame the woman victim? All I said was, for the 3rd or 4th time, are we responsible for what someone else does, or what happens to them. I did hope to get an answer as to what she planned to achieve after the 2015 incident by bringing the Meyer's into the fray. All that Meyer could have done was fire her husband. Period. Fired or not, this would not have prevented other incidents at home. It's not like Meyer was trying find out who a serial rapist was and tried to stop him. WHAT did Ms. Smith hope to achieve by having her husband lose his job? Working nor not, he still would have been dangerous. In fact he would have been MORE dangerous, being home all day. Preventing more incidents would be the job for professionals.

Could meyer not of given her a safe space away from him? Could anyone not meet with her and help her go to the police giving her support? You act as if the only thing someone in his position can do is fire someone.

Again everything you have said makes me believe you personally would of done nothing to Support Ms. Smith, which doesn't seem like something how a church going person should act.

Things Meyer could/should have done to help Ms. Smith:

...1) Fire her husband from his staff and give him a bad job reference.
...2) Offer to babysit her 2 children while she seeks counseling.
...3) Help her find professional care which is SOOOOO hard to do.
...4) Let her stay with Urban and his wife for awhile, along with both kids.
...5) Keep her husband on his staff full time. Make him work 10-12 hour days, and send him on long recruiting trips. Then, without him being home a lot, he will not get into arguments with his wife. Without arguing, there will be less confrontation. With out confrontation there will be less chance of physical retaliation. This will give the Smith's time to re-evaluate their situation and get true professional help. AND, simultaneously, will give Zach an earned income which can be used for child support. A TWO win situation!!!!
...And as far as church is concerned, I Thessalonians 4:10-12 states: Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You shall mind your own business so that your daily life may win respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anyone.

It’s gotta be tough being a coach now a days... you have to be a concussion/brain specialist, heart specialist, police officer, social worker and who knows what other mandates they are going to tack on next. I do agree precautious and perpetrators should be reported but when we begin to sue and throw people under the bus who are not the actual person who committed the crime I have a problem with it.

You don't have to be a brain specialist, you have to listen to your trainers.
You don't have to be a heart specialist, you have to listen to your team doctors.
You don't have to be a police officer, you just to discipline your team when they do something wrong.
You don't have to a social worker, you just need to report when one of your assistant coaches is involved in criminal offenses.

Being a decent person isn't that hard. Winning football games, recruiting, and being a figure head is still harder than any of that stuff listed above.
