True, there's never been conference reshuffling.

I don't think UCF is going to be this good much longer, they are having a nice run. It'll come to an end, Frost was a good coach and they are just riding the wave of what he built.

UCF is located in a recruiting hotbed.  They won't go 12-0 every year but they should be able to remain solid.

At the end of the day the committee and P5 schools don't think any schools such as UCF are worthy. Alabama could lose by 30 and still get in the playoffs. While UCF could win by 50 and still have no chance. That's why Michigan was placed 7th right in front of them to make sure UCF cant get in. No conference plays an equal schedule to others, many conferences are either viewed as good or bad. Thus making say the SEC the best so any opponents you beat from the SEC are valued as a higher value win.

Several things need to change to take some of this away. All conferences should play the same number of conference games, all P5 teams should have to be made to play 10 or 11 P5 or G5 games each year. Then expand to 8 team playoff and eliminate the conference championship games. For example next week would be the first of the 8 playoff games between the top 8 teams in the country, including UCF.

There is still no good competitive reason why there isnt a 8 or 16 team playoffs at the moment. The main reason comes down to $$$ for the NCAA.

More teams, more betting, more entertainment that's meaningful. Get rid of a chump game and add more teams. I'd rather watch a bowl game that's part of playoffs, to root for a team I may have picked than to just watch a random game that just decides who's the capital one champ.
If only closed minds came with closed mouths

Here's the problem with the current format of taking the four best teams and not making it a prerequisite that you win your conference title.   The best team in college football, Alabama, has nothing to play for today while Georgia has everything to play for, and it is showing early in the game.

UCF misses Milton a lot, but defensively UCF can't stop Memphis. And all Memphis is doing is the wildcat and running right or left. Can you imagine D'Andre Swift from Georgia or Travis Etienne from Clemson running against this UCF defense? Yikes.
