Q&A with Conemaugh Township head coach, Sam Zambanini

What makes him a leader?
Work ethic. Quiet business like attitude. Willing to do whatever it takes to help the team.

What are his strengths?
Has a “nose” for the football. Physical and mental toughness.

How has he grown as a player?
He has grown physically because of his off season work ethic.

When he first entered your program did you know he would be special?
We knew he would be special. Austin was able to physically compete with veteran players from his first day.

What is he like on the practice field?
A quiet personality with good work habits.

What was the most amazing thing you’ve seen him do?
Play MLB and make 152 tackles as a sophomore.

What are you expecting from him this year?
We are hoping for more good results on defense, but we will also need Austin to shoulder more of the offensive load this season.
