How do you stop a high powered offense???

Control the clock and keep them on the sidelines!!!

That is EXACTLY what McCort will do, they will Wing-T them to death...

If you can't stop the run, your defense begins to get tired and BIG PLAYS happen...

I am not one for the Bishop's but I just don't see LV being able to stop McCort's Wing-T Ground-N-Pound Attack...

Prediction: McCort 35 - LV 21

McCort averages 38.5 ppg while giving up 12.8 ppg. Ligonier giving up state low of 2.5 while averaging 46 ppg. Just some numbers that show it's either going to be high scoring....or low scoring...lol

This has the makings of a great game.  This thread also has the makings of an extra long one.  Four pages on the first day - which was a nice day when the Steelers were playing the Cowboys.  Let's hope the discussion stays about football and doesn't go into the gutter.  Anyway, I think LV will win - but I am bias. I think the closer the game - the better chance McCort has, because LV has not been tested.  The experience in close games may make a difference.  I agree that if LV cannot stop the Wing T, then it will be a long day, but I think they will be able to stop it for the most part - but McCort will make plays on offense.  I would be really surprised if LV holds McCort to one touchdown.  Both teams are athletic, skilled and experienced and they both run their offenses with a lot of precision.  Both teams have a lot of players with many starts under their belt.  The only common opponents were CH and WH.  Both beat CH by 37.  LV did much better against WH than BM did.  However, that is way too small of a sample size to really conclude anything.  I will go with LV 37-24.  By the way - they are calling for really good weather so the skill etc. won't be hampered by bad weather  and I also think that allows both teams to kick a field goal or two (both teams have good kickers).  One other note, Crimson Lion, the Sheeder who starts is a junior.  He has a brother who is a freshman who is a really good running back.  The freshman got in a lot during the second half of blowouts and he usually scored when he got the ball but the junior is the guy who starts (along with Dubics #23).

Did anyone in the Heritage throw any unique defenses at LV.  I know McCort is a base 4-3 , but was wondering if  they consider a spy on Smith as he is a threat to hurt you with his legs?  Not that Basile is going to come out and say that.   I remember seeing someone e trying to defend Nate Crookshank at BC with a spy, but not a common practice.
Just trying to throw out some more conversation

I think McCort will have trouble when the play breaks down and Smith is out of the pocket. He's a really good player, and I'm not even sure who they would spy him with that wouldn't disrupt what they normally do on defense.

I have the sense that this may be a shootout/whoever has the ball last type of game.

Prediction: LV 28 BM 10. McCorts defense will be spread out by the empty sets LV runs. Be curious to to see how they chose to defend it. Go rams!
