200 wins is impressive district titles or not. He would be in the debate for the last spot on the Mount Rushmore for d6. Bailey Franco and Hayes are locks.

How many wins do those three have? and forgive my tired brain, where is Bailey from?
Re: Gouse - 200 wins
Gouse is no doubt someone who should be celebrated for his accomplishments. He made Portage a football town, and no doubt had an impact on many young men's lives regardless of the 200 wins. Grand scheme though, mediocre opponents and couldn't win when the competition got better. Not really a knock on him. End of the day kids win games, not coaches.

Wouldn't it have to be Wheeler for Mount Rushmore? District 6 has 4 state championships total. Only 2 coaches in District Six history have won state titles and he's one of them. And he has three of them.

I would say little of both, not so long ago Portage had 3 straight undefeated regular seasons. And they were playing a stout schedule..Chestnut Ridge, Homer Center and others.. amongst some very good Westpac teams. Now in the Westpac, teams have to play in conference..which is going to hurt teams going into Districts, lack of the extra stiff competition.
In 2014 Portage made a great run, made it to D6 finals. There was one team in the area that could've beat Portage that night, take a guess who..? That was as good as a prepared team I've seen around here!
Coach Gouse should get his celebration, he took the program to another level, instilled commitment, hard work, respect for each other. Congrats Coach!

In 2014 it was a very competitive game against BG. Postage played a great game, Kephart did all he could but one thing about that game Gouse did not coach in it. He was kicked out the week before and wasn't allowed.

Wheeler is on his way what he has done is incredible. But I kind of go with the coaches that have done it for decades over the 5 year span wheeler has had. Cause you never know BG great today could turn into BC tomorrow.
Re: Gouse - 200 wins
Chuck Lucidore went 15-5-1 at PC before skipping town after 2 years...
