JV Rules

Postby Scarlets1992 » September 1st, 2018, 7:25 pm

Are there guidelines regarding JV participation?  Can Seniors play?  Can Varsity starters play?

Yes and yes. Neither is a good idea for obvious reasons, but usually only srs that don’t have much chance of playing fridays... varsity starters are usually not allowed from their own staff, but if numbers force it , usually it would be in different positions or opposite side of the ball. A lot of coaches would forfeit JV game before risking guys that play on fridays

Thanks. With the numbers of some teams in the area, I just couldn’t figure out how they would field JV teams if a big percentage of underclassmen started- or if they had a disproportionate number of seniors. I imagine JV forfeits will become more commonplace.

I know in ICC there are already cancellations. Calling up 9th graders helped but I know Bellwood had a few cancellations last year because opponents couldn't field teams. At that level it's not even a forfeit , just a cancelled game
