Official visits are when the school itself pays for the whole thing.  You can take as many unofficial visits as you want. Schools will leave the kids tickets at the gate for every home game if they want.

In any event, Aaron Tutino got an offer from West Virginia State (D2) the other day. His first offer.

Like Crimson’s Ghost said, those are official visits you’re referring to, not unofficial visits. A kid can go on a recruiting visit to every school in the country if they invite him as long as the school isn’t paying for it. A school can’t even offer a recruit food for free unless it is an official visit, which happens when a school is absolutely sure that they are going to be making an offer or the recruit has already been offered(in most cases). I’m not sure why you find it hard to believe that he is a D1 recruit. Did you watch him play/look at any tape or stats or anything before you made up that he has only been on recruiting visits to Psac schools?  Seriously, did you actually read that anywhere or did you completely make that up on your own to try and prove a point?

I don't think watching tape or looking at stats would help you come to any conclusion, there aren't exactly any lock down corners in the Heritage Conference.
Is he better than Daugherty or Jon Long? Both nice players that went PSAC

Where is the difference between players like Xree Lowe, Bryce Gibson, Alex Hoenstine and Ryan Lezzner vs players like Noah Dillow, Jackson Daughtery and Jon Long? Division 1 vs Division 2. Long and Daughtery had bigger numbers than Lezzner as seniors. But he went D1? Is it level of competition? We all appreciate the talent of Colin Smith but for whatever reason he isn't at WVU anymore and is at Lackawanna now. Interesting to see where this year's crop of seniors ends up and if they stay or things change and end up some where else.

I agree with CC, film on Tutino is not helpful due to no equality to his talent in the opposing Dbs. Guess that is what summer camp is for.

I would say it's probably a combination of size, speed, and performance in camps against elite competition. Possibly also classroom performance as it's not easy to juggle college classes and the rigor of a D1 football program

You pretty much nailed it. Exposure in the camps, going up against the top prospects there really sets the table for going d1. Size and the frame to add more makes a difference along with speed.

Yes, these colleges couldn’t care less about stats. They are looking at physical and mental ability.
