Re: Ligonier Valley

One important item to not overlook when considering having 4-5 out-of-conference games is just how difficult it can be to schedule football games. Ask any AD/school that had an "independent" schedule (e.g. CR, SJCA, etc). You have to be willing to travel long distances and play schools tha...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Regarding the multi sport--now favorite in basketball comment posted earlier.   I can buy that in the Heritage Conference but I can't imagine any scenario whereby he will be, as a SR transfer, granted eligibility under the current rules for the playoffs so I don't think it changes a thing in 6-AAA ...

Re: D6 Playoffs

Re: PIAA eligibility

Not sure why football is being discussed in the Baseball thread, but there are many schools just D6 that do not have enough players to field a JV baseball team. So the choice becomes playing some varsity players on the JV squad or not playing JV games (and therefore not developing your future varsit...

Re: State Championship Thread

Every year varies, but here are the final championship totals for this year: Public - 5 Public, Charter - 4 Private, Catholic - 3 Of the four charter schools to win a championship, three were from the School District of Philadelphia (D12) which restricts attendance to their charters to school distri...

Re: State Championship Thread

Whatever you call them they aren’t a public school that is restricted like a normal public school. Restricted how?  Any student can attend any school in the state regardless of their designation (i.e. public, public charter, cyber charter, private).  You may have to pay tuition depending on the cir...
