Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Just let high school athletes play high school sports.  Ditto. All that is accomplished by strict transfer rules is affluent athletes and their families still are going to move and put their children in the best possible situation. Then find a loophole, or pay more for a residency, or lawyer up to ...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Then there is United, Coming off one of the more memorable seasons in school history, they are looking at dressing around 13-15 kids.  They take on LV (47 guys on the roster) this year on a Saturday afternoon in early September.  Wouldn't be surprised if at 1pm the temp is in the mid 80's.  Let's sa...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Fballrules, any word on the tuition question raised above?  Does tuition payment have any bearing eligibility decisions? Can't say for sure but there is nothing in the 2018 rule that addresses tuition payments.  I think the old rule allowed for transfer due to academic programs, such as agriculture...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Wait till United’s RB feels left out, he’ll be on LV roster too. Why not make a super team They've already got one of those.  Hard to top what they already have at that spot.  I highly doubt anyone from LV had anything to do with this transfer, as insinuated earlier in the thread.  I believe it was...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

The 2018 transfer rule adopted by the PIAA was/is supposed to take care of all transfer situations whether they are public or private.  According to the rule, regardless if both the sending and receiving principals "sign off", the athlete must meet very strict criteria to earn a hardship w...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

Any argument UCF has of getting in is out the window due to the QB's season ending injury. They say its about the 4 best teams. Who is more likely to give Bama a game? OU, OSU, or UCF. Before the injury you might be able to make that argument, now? no way. I'll be shocked if they beat Memphis Saturd...

Re: D6 Class A Championship

In my opinion District 6 is nowhere near what is was last year so its going to be a tough game but I also think JV will win from what I've seen. That's a scary thought, given how badly Jeannette dominated Homer in Hershey, Tough to argue that Single A has more solid teams this year.  Just about all...
