YOU know it wasn't HIS idea. Made sense though, didn't it? And if you don't let the JV players play in their own games, they stop going out for the team in the years to come. If they're not playing, they're gonna stay home or do something else.

For many years Don Bailey would not play his starting QB on defense. WHY? Because he was too valuable to the team as a whole. Legal or not, why even consider playing varsity starters on a JV team? In 2018, there were 297 Division I college baseball teams. These schools compete to go to the 64 team DI baseball tournament, and then to Omaha, Nebraska for the 8 team college world series. Please adjust your math accordingly.

Ya, but in basketball they take more than 64 teams in THEIR tournament. Surely you could make the final field once in a while.
