Re: Scores 1-7 - 1-12

In the early '90's, CC and PC played up a class in football to avoid the likes of FH, Tyrone, WH, Bedford, etc. Gave them a better chance to win districts

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

If you use your timeouts when on defense, you control what your opponent does to some extent and save total game time. THEN, if and when you get the ball back, you can use things other than timeouts to stop the clock, such as out-of-bounds plays, incomplete passes, spiking the ball, etc . By not tak...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

I'll guarantee you the talk from the fans after leaving the game (as well as those on the internet) was NOT about dropped passes. It was about Franklin and his decision to kick that field goal rather than to go for it with 4 minutes left in the game, and the failed fake punt. Two PSU fans leaving th...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

After a game like this, most head coaches will take some of the blame. You know, like "I didn't prepare the team the way I should have", or "Our game plan could have been better". But most coaches won't say the players were to blame. Major league managers don't blame a loss on a ...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

Drops stalled multiple drives? Maybe that's why their WR coach was let go today. But notice Franklin took NO responsibility for losing the game. What happened to "the buck stops here"? Seems like someone always gets thrown under the bus.

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

Just read the AP article in today's Tribune about the game. Not one thing was mentioned about the fake punt or going for the field goal with 4 minutes left. Franklin blamed the loss on dropped balls and missed opportunities. As mentioned above, several players are bailing on PSU for next year.

Re: War Memorial Holiday Shootout- Boys

So what are you going to tell your grandson when he asks why you and Granny missed BOTH of his games at the War Memorial over the two days? Couldn't go, didn't have $40.

Re: College Hoops

So why wasn't the game mentioned on Friday or Saturday? The only sports going on, on Thanksgiving, were the 3 pro football games. You'd think that the Tribune would be starved for sports stories, at least on Friday. Look. They just didn't want to print the loss to Bradley. I'll guarantee you that if...

Re: College Hoops

The game started at 8:30 Wednesday night. I watched a lot of it. The DePaul game, which PSU lost the week before in Illinois, started at 9PM. The story of THAT game made the paper the very next day. Nice try, Crimson, but your theory doesn't wash. They CHOSE to leave it out.
