Re: Proposed weight changes? Thoughts?

I'm not a huge wrasslin' guy but would it be impossible to allow the AD's to determine the number of weight classes (12 or 14) in a duel before the season starts?  If 2 programs each have 20+ wrestlers on the roster, why couldn't they choose to have the traditional 14 weight class duel and if one (o...

Re: Should College Baseball move to summer schedules?

I don't see how a move to any part of the year would prevent northern schools reporting a net loss on the sport.  Would they maybe not lose quite as much money?  Yes.  This is why I think a fall season could be better, as well.  How much do northern programs spend to ship these teams south to play s...

Re: Should College Baseball move to summer schedules?

Seems like a grand plan on paper but what would it do to local minor league baseball teams?  Look at places like the University of Maryland where the Terps would then be competing head to head with the Bowie Bay Sox which are just a few miles away.  State College, PA has a similar issue with the Sta...

Re: The Race To 16 Wins

Who in their right mind thinks there is any chance or any discussion of Mike Sullivan losing his job?  Even if they lose this series, he would be 9-2 in playoff series as the Penguins head coach.  The beauty of the Stanley Cup playoffs is it is unpredictable every single year.  2 years ago the Senat...

Re: 2019 Baseball Season Predictions

Vegas the last I saw had them at 83.5 wins.  To put that in perspective, 86 seems to be about the magical line to make the playoffs since the format has expanded.  More than 86 and you are almost guaranteed to be in. 86 is hit or miss.  85 is usually out.

Re: Pirates April 8 - 14

Cubs are also 2-7 with a run differential of -9.  I think the Pirates have the best pitching staff in baseball.  As much as I can't stand this ownership and front office, you have to give them credit where credit is due.  They have the deepest starting staff in the big leagues when you consider they...

Re: Reggie Nevins story

At some point, people are just going to refuse to talk to the media. Why speak to them? It is only going to get you in trouble.   The reporter was just going his/her job and did it well but there is no advantage in 2019 to really publicly put your thoughts into record. It’s just the society that we ...

Re: Total Embarrassment: Penn State Basketball

Moldo, I started this thread.  Penn State was 0-10 in the B1G at one point coming off of a NIT championship run without their best big man, who has since returned.  It was a colossal underachievement through February 1st for this team.  I think the last month is showing how poorly this team underper...

Re: Total Embarrassment: Penn State Basketball

Playing the second hardest schedule with 3 true freshmen in the top 8 rotation has a lot to do with where they are at right now.  They let a few games slip but they are easily a tournament caliber team.  They rate comparably to Syracuse, Iowa, UCF, NC State, and Oklahoma in the metrics (KenPom and N...
