Re: Lamont Wade

Shows how out of touch you are with the realities of division 1 recruiting. 1) He may not leave. All the “transfer portal” does is allow other colleges and universities contact the player. That’s it. Hundreds of D1 athletes will enter the portal and elect to not transfer. Tommy Stevens entered the p...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

It all goes back to some people not being able to ever accept the fact that their team was just beat.  Franklin gave his defense 6+ plays to get a stop. That would have given his offense 2+ minutes of time to set up a chance to tie or win.
Kentucky was just the better team.

Re: Lamont Wade

How has Wade become a consensus bust?  He letter as a true freshman, switched positions playing sparingly at S as true sophomore along with playing on special team units, and is in a position to complete for the starting safety position as a junior.  Penn State is one of the 13 programs in the blue ...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

I would say the conversion percentage for a 4th and 7 inside the 15 yard line was probably less than 40%.  So the numbers say, you aren't getting it.  So then you are giving UK the ball with the same 4 minutes left on the clock but need a TD to win and no possibility for the tying FG. So now you are...

Re: College football playoff race: Who do you think should get in?

I liked the decision.  Penn State was controlling the game and momentum that entire 4th quarter.  A redzone 4th and 7 with small passing lanes and a QB with a broken foot is probably not a high percentage conversion chance.  Kick the FG, keep the momentum.  With 3 timeouts, your defense had 2 full s...

Re: Tribune Democrat

With all due respect, so what? That’s their JOB. They are sports writers. That would like a nurse saying it was lame that after helping deliver a baby, they have to check it’s vitals too.   In my industry, I am not an expert in every field. But I have 8-10 trusted colleagues that I use regularly for...

Re: Tribune Democrat

I think it speaks to the journalist laziness that encompasses our entire country (generally speaking here). In 2018, it should be easier than ever for the writers to put together an accurate all-state ballot. Heck I live in Harford County, MD and I watched at least 15 or 20 games this year from my c...

Re: Signing Day

Football is just different and hard to project from level to level.  A kid could go to a college that has a coaching change 6 months later and all of the sudden not remotely fit into the scheme. Or a kid can just stop growing. Or a kid could suffer a debilitating injury. In baseball, if a kid can th...

Re: Steelers

What are you basing that on?  It's the NFL there isn't such a thing as "no way they will win."  The worst 2 teams in the league both have 3 wins out of 14 tries on the season.  The Steelers have the personnel to beat anyone, anywhere.   I'm not saying they will win but to say they have no ...
