Re: 2010 Pony League Players
What you said makes absolutley no sense. AAABA had 8 teams in the 80's, should of, the population of Johnstown was 4x's as more. Highland Park tried to put in a AAABA team under Barefoot. He found out that was not good idea. As I recall in the 80's, 90's the only kids that went to Highland were the ...

Re: 2010 Pony League Players
I agree, that competitive baseball is down in Johnstown. I also agree that the Altoona teams have been stomping the Johnstown teams as well. However, when I have checked out the websites for Delweld & Martella's, I have noticed that they havent really thrown their best consistently against the T...

Re: 2010 Pony League Players
The rules of the league govern that any team can have a kid play for them as long as they live in certain school districts. I believe all school districts in Cambria County are fair game, as well as districts such as Windber, Township, Ligonier Valley, United, Shankesville, and North Star. I am prob...

Re: 2010 Pony League Players
The boilers recruit by giving these kids jackets,clothing(baseballundershirts/socksetc.), and by using the name get all the best kids hand picked around the area and the ones that aren't that good on that team(which some aren't that good), have dads that know the coaches to get these kids on this t...

Re: 2010 Pony League Players
DaisyMae, I'll tell you what those kids from Pinnacle learned that day from the Boilers. Its called make the routine plays and get the simple outs. Pinnacle committed about 10 errors that day and if my memory serves me well they dropped 4-5 simple fly balls.

Re: Little League Tournaments
Here is a major problem that I have seen with the rushing in of little league tournaments. Football. Although your son is 8 years old, he is feeling the impact of the older kids. Everything baseball almost needs to be done by early August so kids can prepare for football. We live in an area where we...

Re: Jay Sox coach needs banned, total embarrassment!
Like I said in my previous post, other coaches with experience refuse to coach for free and volunteer their time. I know for a fact that numerous coaches were asked and basically replied no money, no thanks!

Re: Jay Sox coach needs banned, total embarrassment!
I talked to some coaches from the league. The rule is that your not permitted to coach in that game, no rules in regards to attending. If he was a problem from the crowd, the umpires should have removed him from the park.

Re: Jay Sox coach needs banned, total embarrassment!
Although I wasnt there to witness the events of this game, I will say this about the JaySox coaches. We should not sit here and put down a group of young men who give up their time to coach baseball . . . for free. Remember this is not a school function and none of the coaches, including those of th...
