Re: United to cancel season

I talked to a mother of a United player last night. She told me that they have eighteen players on the roster, but they have a couple of them hurt. Don't look for the lions to give up. Those kids are tough. As long as they don't have too many injuries, Coach Marabito will have those guys ready to pl...

Re: United to cancel season

Karma is a b**ch. Back in 1994, the LVSD once again was planning on consolidating their two high schools in Ligonier. A group of concerned citizens from Laurel Valley petitioned the United School Board, asking them to merge United and Laurel Valley. It would have been a match made in heaven. Many fo...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

This decision doesn't affect me one way or the other. I went to the first Ligonier game after the consolidation and have never returned. I would rather watch Homer Center because of the coach. I will have to break down this year and attend the LV games. My granddaughter is a varsity LV cheerleader.

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

In addition, knowitall, not once did I say anything about the intelligence of students. I merely reported on the difference between the quality of education at two school districts.  If you think that there isn't difference, then I have an oceanfront property in Arizona that I want to sell you. Pare...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Here you go knowitall! A GREAT HIGH SCHOOL educates all students from different social and economic backgrounds, exposing them to challenging coursework on the path to graduation. The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2019 Best High Schools rankings are those whose...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Manfred, I hit the wrong button and forgot how to delete the incomplete post, so I decided to start over. Sorry! I have a question for you, so that I can better understand your opinions. Where did you graduate high school and what school do you support? The same thing goes for youngbuck and knowital...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

First of all, there are no other posters over the years that have complained as much as myself, concerning students transfering because of athletic intent. I just believe that there should be uniformity.  Furthermore, in one of his posts, knowitall, sarcastically stated that since Kyle didn`t transf...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Tubmill, Why do you find it necessary to bolster your argument by disparaging the quality of the educational program at United? I haven't seen anyone claim that Kyle transferred for educational reasons. As a side note, I believe he has a younger sister that is a sophomore, has she also transferred ...

Re: United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

knowitall, I enjoy your sarcasm! However, these kids are scholar athletes. The type of education these kids receive should be important to parents. It sounds if you don't care. If Ligonier needed some more ace teachers, they wouldn't go to Latrobe or Mt. Pleasant. Greater Latrobe is ranked the 156th...
