Re: Philipsburg-Osceola forfeits last two

I couldn't agree more with the ninth grade movement. According to PIAA rules, ninth graders should have a choice to move to the Varsity level or stay at the Junior High level. When leagues take that decision away from the parents and athletes, it just isn't fair. To my knowledge football is the only...

Re: LHAC week 7

To my knowledge, there isn't an appeal process for ejections. The paperwork comes to the AD office on Monday morning with the infraction from the PIAA that the referee set in. Unless the AD questions the ejection, the decision has already been made by the rules set by the PIAA.

Re: Fearless Forecast No. 8

Tussey Mountain has a record of 7-0, not 7-2.

Not Tussey. Their games with Fannett-Metal have been postponed.

Re: PIAA Class-AA Playoff Preview

I saw the Executive Education team okay when I saw my nephew play. They looked like to me that they could have beat the AAAA teams that played after them. They have 3 senior forwards listed at 6'6'', 6'5",  and 6'2". Two other senior guards re both listed at six feet, So they all came from...

Re: PIAA Class-AAAA Playoff Preview

I will disagree with one of your picks just because of a personal connection to one of the teams. I hope Wilson will beat Shamokin since my nephew is a senior starter and a tri-captaion for the Wilson Area Warriors. They finished in third place in District 11. I was able to see him play in person la...

Re: Scott Conklin's proposed bill

My thinking is that this bill does repeal the 1972 rule then the PIAA and the local districts get it right and stop these transfers from public to public and not let them happen. At least make the transfers disqualified athletically to compete for the new school. If the transfer isn't athletically m...

Re: District 5

This information was given to me by the wrestling expert from NBC and my relative. The match will take place at Bedford during the Junior Olympics sometime tomorrow night. The reason for the match is that NBC heavyweight wrestled 5 times on Saturday and the PIAA has a rule saying that no athlete wil...

Re: Scott Conklin's proposed bill

I agree with both of you. Hopefully the Juniata Valley situation wouldn't happen if there was a rule separating the 2 championships. Hopefully the local districts would prevent the transfers because they really became a private school because of the local AAU team was really getting together at the ...
