Re: New recruiter at UBG
He'll have his work cut out for him. When you have three state championships to tout and only 4 transfers from outside your traditional pipeline, two of which never played varsity at their former schools and three of which came from within a few miles of the BG, you have a long way to go in recruiti...

Re: Heritage Conference 2017
FBR 17, With the exception of the 4 players I alluded to above, BG's roster doesn't include anyone who comes from outside the same geographic/demographic area from which the team has drawn for many decades. They've always had some kids move into the school from Altoona High and lost some going the o...

Re: Heritage Conference 2017
lgb87cape...that's a good one...haha...weakest conference in the area...you made me spit out my coffee when I read that...if you think the Laurel Highlands is far superior, think again...they have BG at Single A(who recruits)...they have BM in Double AA( who recruits and got dismantled by LV last y...

Re: CC school board says split out the private schools
This conversation is a never ending loop. I agree though, Single A football with 6 classes is not where BG belongs. Play AAA or AAAA not quite so many people would be chirping. I think the play up rule "with success" is a fine way to force these teams to another classification. It wou...

Re: CC school board says split out the private schools
The participation level is high because that's why they're there. You don't have all the non-athletes. A small public school is stuck with what they have. BG kids are there for a reason, yes education is part of it, but the sports side of things more so. It's not about quantity, it's about quality....

Re: CC school board says split out the private schools
D6 fbfan: I have read many posts that state none of the BG players were brought in from "the outside". You seem to have good knowledge on the BG sports seen, could you help me better understand what is defined as "the outside", and what you define as "the inside" ...

Re: BG Rebuilding
I won't stray too far off the thread. Suffice it to say that your point is sharp and that it has been a topic of reflection for many parents who send their kids to the Catholic schools. The greatest faith may be that the problems are in the past.

Re: PIAA- All 9th Graders to High School Football
Some of you guys don't get it. A 140 year old freshmen isn't going up against a 250 pound senior in 99% of cases. Coach, not in a game. I'm talking about at practice. I know from experience that at a small school they do line up against each other. It's up to the coaches to ensure that the stand...

https://twitter.com/PhysGenLevine/status/805079514892079104 Hmmm should I send my child to Bishop Mccort --100% graduation rate, $7 million in scholarships for class of 2016, 92% pursuing post secondary degrees or to Johnstown with a 77% graduation rate but they will have access to Narcan Anything ...

Re: PIAA- All 9th Graders to High School Football
BG has been doing this for years. It is a wonderful idea you learn so much from the older kids. your coaches can only teach fundamentals they cant teach you the things that the older kids can. When your a 14yr old freshman you look up to the seniors and the become more like your big brother than ...
