Re: interesting article in somerset paper

I would not be surprised if Shade pulls their starters as early as the second quarter once they get down by a few scores.  Then Liggy will either have to score 70 or pull theirs early as well.  Regardless, I'll be shocked if this game lasts two more years,  the Westpac gets nothing out of it.

Re: Playoff Rankings - Week 9

I agree that 12 initially seems to be too many...however 2 points on the flip side.  One, it’s a real advantage for the District champion to find itself in state semifinals at end of district play.  Taking a round out of districts would make the champ play another week of state playoffs. And two, l...

Re: Playoff Rankings - Week 9

Purchase Line entered Friday's game 1-7.  After steamrolling Saltsburg, they are still alive for a play-off spot.  The only way they can make it is to jump Blacklick Valley for 12th.  To do this they will need Saltsburg's help.  If PL beats Ferndale they'll close the gap to Blacklick from 130 points...

Re: Albert Gallatin

AG was 4A in 16/17,  they barely made the cut for 5A this cycle.  They did play a 3A team and a 4A team non-conference.  Lost to both.

They'll probably try to jump back in 2020, if they go back to 4A.  However the WPIAL won't be happy.  You'll have 9 WPIAL teams looking for games next year.

Re: WestPac

Does anyone know what the current Heritage/WestPac crossover games look like? Put it this way.  West Shamokin could finish anywhere from 3rd to 8th depending on this weekend's results.  It's been a crazy year in the Heritage, from 2-10 anyway.  The westpac is pretty well determined in comparison.  ...

Re: Saltsburg forfeit

tubmill, this isn't a co-op, it's a merger. There aren't any LV students anymore but there are approximately 262 boys walking through the high school to choose from. I've waisted enough time expressing my opinion, and I've enjoyed getting different perspectives. I hope it works out for everyone but ...

Re: Saltsburg forfeit

This isn't a case of group of good players coming through. No, this isn't the case at all.  Before 2016, the Ligonier Valley Rams were 0-3 against LHAC teams.  The last two years they were 5-0 and four of those games weren't close.  Prior to 2016, they really didn't fare well against AA non-confere...

Re: Saltsburg forfeit

This isn't a case of group of good players coming through. Ligonier has won over 86% of their conference games since merging with Laurel Valley in 2010. What have they won 27 straight conference games by mercy rule? To tell the truth, I feel just as bad for a school like Homer that has been as consi...
