Re: Penn State

Imo if they play to there potential I think they are the best team in the Big Ten. They need to get a run game going or it's gonna look like the Steelers where they know your throwing cause you can't run the ball. Against better teams that will be their downfall. The difference is Penn State has sh...

Re: 2021 College Football Thread

Some additional observations through 2 weeks. -College Football has always catered to the blue bloods. How a writer can honestly think that Ohio State, Clemson, and Notre Dame's on field product equates to a top dozen ranking is sort of mind blowing. But it is a huge advantage to these teams. Even t...

Re: 2021 College Football Thread

We head off to week 3. Here is what I am keeping an eye on. Locally: -#22 Auburn @ #10 Penn State. I think a game that really shapes the perception of 2 programs and 2 conferences. The SEC has looked very strong this year outside of Tennessee who lost at home to a (better than most realize) Pitt tea...

Re: 2021 College Football Thread

I wouldn’t say never but the second B1G school to get in would have to be Ohio State or Michigan. They aren’t letting a 1 loss non-B1G champion Iowa or Michigan State into the playoffs, ever. I think Clemson this year will be a very interesting case study. If there are 4 1 loss P5 power conference w...

Re: 2021 College Football Thread

You think a 1 loss Clemson gets in over a 1 loss B1G team that didn’t win the conference?

That B1G team likely would have 3 or 4 top 25 wins in their resume. Where is Clemson getting that kind of resume from?

2021 College Football Thread

We are a week in, what is everyone's thoughts to this point. Some huge games locally and nationally this week include: -Pitt @ Tennessee. Pitt opened as a field goal favorite. Winner of this game might be ranked the following week. - Ball State @ #11 Penn State. Ball State won the MAC last year and ...

Re: Williamsburg

I heard that Tussey Mountain and Tyrone are playing this year. Seems like an odd match-up that probably is due to both schools scrambling due to the instability of each of their conferences.

Penn State Basketball

What a disaster. Mass exodus. Top 4 scorers, top defender, and top rotational big man all in the portal. If Sandy Barbour isn’t on the hot seat, then she never will be. Could you handle a situation any worse? I was not a Pat Chambers. But they (basically) fired a guy that has completely turned aroun...

Re: Pitt Basketball

They lost to St Francis (PA) by 10. SFU went 6-16 overall and finished 9th in the NEC. I don’t think Pitt was guaranteed to rip through a non-conference slate this year. A full slate would have featured a tournament and probably 2 or 3 formidable opponents. I still think they would have finished the...

Re: Pitt Basketball

El Moldo, almost every basketball team that is hovering around the .500 mark can point to a few close losses that shaped the trajectory of their season. That's what mediocre teams do, they are in too many close games. You could just as easily point to the 1 point win over Northwestern (13th out of 1...
