We aren't criticizing the kid tough guy. But rather the schools and coaches who inflate the tackle numbers. I mean, this is under the assumption that he does not input these stats himself, but a coach does.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But on any given play, only 3 people can be credited with a tackle (even though they would get a half a tackle each...the math is wrong). Or can only 2, with each getting half?

Some schools based on what I've seen on maxpres do a good job at it. At this point in the season, 10 games in, a team's leading tackler should have 45-60 solo tackles, and 80-90 total tackles. Right around the 10 per game mark.

That kind of production would have Nick Saban, Jim (or John, I always get them confused) Harbaugh, Urban Meyer, Jimbo Fisher and others at Windber Stadium on a weekly basis.
