Re: transfer rules....i.e. Ambridge...
Just pointing out that plenty of transfers occur in PA that are deemed to be for nonathletic purposes. For those that don't know, Verkleeren sued his prior school and coaches, so him leaving there was expected. While Duggan will be on his 3rd team in 3 years and amazingly each time he is on a high ...

A football board, but some high profile wrestling transfers: Jarod Verkleeren, Iowa State recruit that was at Belle Vernon last year but was not permitted to wrestle in the postseason has moved to Hempfield and is considered eligible by the WPIAL. Francis Duggan, a 2 time state medalist, will compe...

Re: transfer rules....i.e. Ambridge...
The family just moved to Johnstown recently. The boy stayed back and lived with family members which is how he still attended Central. "stayed back" - that isn't really an option to decide what high school to attend though is it? Don't dependents need to attend school @ parent's residen...

Re: transfer rules....i.e. Ambridge...
It's my understanding if a parent works for a school district, then the kids are able to attend the school for free. I believe that situation has happened at Johnstown recently. Does McCort offer this? On a teacher's salary and the $3000 coaching salary, paying $7000 to go to McCort is really no b...

Re: transfer rules....i.e. Ambridge...
The family lives in Johnstown. His dad is the wrestling coach at McCort. My guess is that he wanted to still go to school with his friends and since Central is a better football team to boot, I don't blame him. Maybe the logistics didn't work out. Something doesn't add up here. IF the family li...

Has Temple suffered from the allegations that Cosby raped a student?
Re: Offseason
D5 apparently concerned about losing 3rd qualifier for regionals due to drop to 10 squads...I don't see that happening though. For years D9AAA had 3 qualifiers for 5 schools, while now they have 4 qualifiers for D4/9's total 7 squads. Also D1 AA has 9 squads, 3 regional qualifiers...I'd think that...

Re: Westmont wrestling
The NCAA bans boosters from contacting prospective student athletes and their families. These rules threaten of athletic ineligibility for both the student athlete and the educational institution. The PIAA should adopt similar rules.
