Re: Philipsburg-Osceola forfeits last two
If you are bringing up 9th graders and not playing JV that is a problem for sure. Those schools are never going to get their numbers up. The kids joined the team because they want to play, not because they want to sit for three years and maybe start as a senior. If a school has grades 10-12 as their...

Re: Philipsburg-Osceola forfeits last two
Many 9th graders are brought up to have JV football. They practice with varsity and some who are physically ready, play on Fridays. I believe it is better to have 3 levels of games (7-8 JH, JV, and Varsity) than it is to have JH and Varsity. Most 9th graders who move up are able to learn the syst...

Re: Football Crisis in Rural PA?
1 Big Football Conference goverened by the AD's/Coaches of all the schools instead of 3 conferences is a potential solution. People would be hung up on the name. Just for argument's sake, let's go with Southern Alleghenies Football Conference. Route 22 is basically your dividing line. Southern Di...

Re: Ligonier Valley
Size means more than about anything when it comes to football. Demographics means something too. Bellwood is different than the rest of the conference. I’m not throwing them under the bus. They play who they play, I’m just drawing a comparison to LV. Both teams do similar things W-l wise, but one se...

Re: Ligonier Valley
Maybe it is Ligonier's approach and how their program is viewed? Bellwood really isnt much different than Ligonier. For decades they have run the ICC. People don't beat them. They are usually the biggest school in the conference and they usually dominate whatever team they play. Claysburg, Junia...

Re: PIAA Messed Up
Konjo, Football season is as long as: Wrestling and Basketball Season. Those sports run from mid November to early March. The spring seasons are slighty shorter due to the weather. They begin in mid March and run until late May/early June. Signed, A football fan that thoroughly enjoys this PS. Fo...

Re: Playoff Rankings - Week 6
District 5A would love to have Claysburg, Portage, CV, Blacklick. D6 won't allow it. I think an AA team that is almost AAA and plays a bunch of A schools and dominates them should look to move to a conference like that LHAC or Mountain. What do you think Enzo? You wouldn't want to just keep getti...

Re: THE RACE TO 16 WINS
Now that the Caps have gotten over the hump that is Pittsburgh, can they win it all? They are up 2-0 and headed back to DC.
