Re: Scores for week of Jan 20th
Wow !- Cameron County loses to St. Joes and they were undefeated ?? I had to look and make sure it was the same St.Joes JV played earlier. JV manhandled them. Thnx for the post, I think it speaks volumes about how tough D6 A and AA are this year. You're welcome. I'm not sure what to make of Saint J...

Re: Scores for week of Jan 20th
Saint Joseph's 60 Cameron County 55 Went to see the highly touted 6'-7" junior Nate Sestina from Cameron County while they were in town and he did not disappoint. He carried the previously undefeated Raiders with 28 points and 24 rebounds. The big man handles the ball very well and could play a...

Re: Tyrone Rumor of the Day
Not sure what to make of this since Guthoff and Franco have worked with each other for quite a while over a couple of different stints. Steve is a great guy and I for one was glad to see him have some modest success at Tyrone as head coach. I'm half surprised that there aren't any rumors of them tea...

Re: 6-Class Football Model
I'm actually okay with the current 4 class system. I just did the analysis as I wanted to see what it would look like in District 6 if implemented. By looking at the western districts and how their population is declining faster than the eastern districts, implementing a 6 class system would certain...

Re: Wesmont, Cambria Heights down to Class A
It is partially done this way for districts like the WPIAL and conferences like Allegheny Mountain that organize their divisions/conferences by PIAA classification. This allows plenty of lead time for them to re-organize and for their respective ADs to set schedules for the next 2-year cycle.

6-Class Football Model
Okay, so I was a little bored this evening in Antarctica and decided to take the new PIAA numbers for football and model what a 6-Class system would look like keeping the existing "even distribution" model. Classes A - AAA are District 6 schools only. Classes AAAA - AAAAAA follow the exist...

BCS Championship Game
Pretty surprised by the lack of interest in the BCS Championship game on this site. FSU just just closed within a point early in the 4th, but couldn't go for the 2 point conversion due to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (taunting the Auburn bench after the TD). What a penalty to take on the bigge...

Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
Acc is weak but b1g is weaker, Pitt had to go through FSU, duke (they beat), and Miami among other names. PSU second best opponent to OSU was UCF. That's pretty sad. Although they did beat a decent team in Madison. Why is it sad? All UCF did was beat everyone on their schedule (including Louisville...

Re: Private Public School Debate
The public schools have more power than they think. If they truly want a separate playoff system, they could get it. Double and Single-A schools should just secede from the PIAA and form the PSPSA --- the Pennsylvania Small Public Schools Association. (Psycho, consolidation is another issue.) Even ...

Re: Private Public School Debate
Then why did the BC coach him haw around and try to avoid the question, Then when he did answer it was " 5 school districts. Not 5 elementary school's"? Or are they from so many that he doesn't even know. I heard the same interview and didn't come away thinking he was avoiding the questio...
