Re: Will there ever be a day???
Note to self--some on this forum don't know the difference between casting accusations and talking about hypothetical scenarios. Even when I use HYPOTHETICAL in all caps. Lol

Re: Will there ever be a day???
This is a BG hypothetical. I'm from the Altoona area originally, so I'm familiar with the region this particular private school resides in. But HYPOTHETICALLY, BG could have a roster made up of mostly Altoona and Hollidaysburg kids, but they COULD also have talent from places like BA, Tyrone, Centr...

Re: Will there ever be a day???
I usually don't post on here, but the public/private debate has been driving me nuts for a while. Here's an analogy I think explains the disparity between the potential resources a private school has that a public school does not with regards to success in a given sport. Lottery tickets... a public ...

Re: CC school board says split out the private schools
I would like to say something to the people who are against leveling the playing field regarding public and private schools... Bishop Guilfoyle. This class-A Catholic high school sits within the CITY of Altoona. The Altoona metropolitan area is home to roughly 150,000 people. More if you consider th...

Re: Wheeler to Notre Dame?
If Wheeler does leave, I'd be willing to bet John Franco would be the first applicant. It's so weird that he's an assistant coach at Saint Joseph's in Boalsburg.

Re: Wheeler to Notre Dame?
Altoona went to the WPIAL in 2013. This coincides with BG getting good. Is it a coincidence that since Altoona joined the WPIAL, BG has become a football powerhouse with numbers, great skill players and a plethora of abominable snowmen for linemen? Maybe, maybe not. But I can tell you that in a city...

Re: Bishop Guilfoyle vs Homer Center
When they went from four to six classifications, they made BG's postseason even easier since a lot of the larger schools that HAD been single-A jumped up to double-A. While BG is still in single-A and still drawing kids from a population larger than six-A Altoona draws from. They may not recruit, bu...

Re: Bishop Guilfoyle vs Homer Center
I bet the D6 1A trophy had BG's name etched on it for 2016 before the tournament even started. That's how ridiculous they are.
