Spammers

We are currently fighting a battle with spammers trying to sign up and abuse the site. In an attempt to fix some of these issue the registration process now requires email activation and the ability to upload your own avatars has been temporarily disabled. We also have been physically blocking access to the site based on ip address. Although the ip blocking should not keep any of our uses from being able to access the site the possibility does exist. If you have any issues with access please let us know.

A new question has also been added to the user registration form.

"Are you a spammer? If not you should be able to answer this simple question. Please count the letters in our site name (BleacherCoaches), multiply that number by three, then add six."

Number of letters in site name (BleacherCoaches) = 15

15 x 3 + 6 = 51

This question should keep spambots from being able to register for the site. The numbers in the question may change over time to keep them guessing.
