Some of you guys my age or older may be able to help. My dad had a hand warmer from back in the day, looked like an oversized cigarette case with sticks similar to chalk that you'd drop in a velvet bag. Do they still make these? Or sell the stuff that went in them? And what was that stuff? Those things got HOT

They are charcoal hand warmers. You light the charcoal stick, put it in the case and close the lid. I think I still have one laying around at home. I don't know if they are still made new but I do see they are being sold on ebay under Solid Fuel handwarmers.
