Thanks for including the word ROCK. Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, Wes Montgomery, John Scofield and Charlie Christian were pretty good guitar players.

Lists such as these can only be explained by considering the writer's musical preference. In addition to a few of the names mentioned, my own "guitar god" list would include names such as:

Randy Rhoads

Vinnie Vincent
George Lynch
Joe Satriani
Tony Iommi
Herman Frank
Adrian Smith
Dave Mustaine

And if you can't appreciate Nita Strauss or Courtney Cox, well then, I just don't know what to say lol!

Jerry Cantrell is up there. AIC is one of the greatest bands of all time.

I've been on a big Tedeschi Trucks Band/ Derek Trucks band kick lately, Derek Trucks is unreal. Maybe not the best, but he might be my favorite at the moment.

That's such a hard question. My mind always start spinning when I try to write my own list. I feel like it's so subjective.
