Bison,

Portage easily makes the D6 playoffs this year. At worst their record will be 6-3, that is with losses to Windber, Township, and Ridge. However, I truly believe they can beat all 3 of those teams. Remember, Portage doesn't play North Star and Berlin this season.

After this season, the Mustangs will struggle for quite some time.

The definition of insanity is Portage's failure to merge with either Forest Hills, Central Cambria, or Penn Cambria. How can a school district of Portage's size continue to operate and not lose money? How many do they graduate now, 60? I have the same thoughts for SDs like Ferndale, Harmony, and Williamsburg.

PA Alum,

I hadn't considered their schedule...I'm still operating somewhat in the days where everybody in the conference matched up at some point. Does 6-3 get into the D6 playoffs? I know 3-6 will get you into 5A but I never paid attention to where the cut usually fell in 6A.

Did you watch Portage and Shade? Is that score true too the Mustangs' strength this year or has Mr. Gouse finally found a soft spot in his heart?

BB Alum,

I'm not saying anything about Berlin's ability as a team or how their season will go. They are the obvious favorites at this point. That being said, they put together a very sloppy game on Friday night. It doesn't seem so when you are so dominating that your broken plays go for touchdowns. More than once. For a team of their caliber playing Ferndale on a bad down year the game should have been much more crisp on their part.

Their first game jitters were gone at the opening kickoff. If not then it was when they scored 3 TD's in the first 10 minutes of the game. They will look better this week. They will be rolling the week after.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Right on..titan...I'll continue the list...Salisbury, Shade, Berlin, Turkeyfoot, Rockwood. Heck it wouldn't be a stretch to merge Ridge and Bedford (HS in Cessna) or merge TM, NB, and Everett (HS up towards Cottle's corner)

Its time PDE and the state gov't forces another round of consolidations.

Ferndale will beat Shade bank on it!

3-6 will not get you into 5A playoffs. You must win 4 games. 3 wins gets you in if there aren't six teams with 4 wins.

windber will not allow blacklick to score 55 points espcially if they come out like they did against bishop walsh...i know the rambler D hasnt been good in the past couple of years but its def better this year and against blacklick i dont think it will be that high scoring
