Here is a link to the fastest 40 times during the 2012 NFL combine. Stop the 4.3 talk. It isn't fair to the player. I always find it funny watching college games how they throw the 4.3 time around and then in the combine only a handful do it.

If you run a 4.3-4.5 and are a decent football player you will get d1 offers. You can't teach that kind of speed.

Very true, It kind of reminds me of some past players that were considered "Marginal" players on the field but had wheels you could not ignore...One for Greensburg Central Catholic a few years ago got more looks because of his speed potential more than anything on the field, was caught in a recruiting battle between Pitt and BC...I think his career may have ended more because of injury...Another was a Kid from Mars H.S. absolutely one of the fastest ever on a field simply outran everyone...But ultimately a marginal player in some ways, never saw too much PT at Boston College and transferred to The Rock and hardly saw time there also, Ironically in Indoor track won a national championship, a sport he probably was more suited for.

While a 4.3 doesn't happen often there have been some locals with that kind of speed. Seems to me Kanuch from westmont was that fast. I also seem to remember Alex Kenny from State College, and Corey Gehret and another Altoona grad with that kinda speed.

In high school, Kanuch ran around a 4.6 or 4.7 and got it down to a low 4.5 while in college. He said it was somewhat due to something as simple as stretching every night before bed. Just an interesting fact.

As soon as I saw that I felt bad for the kid. There are no 4.3's in our area. Bedford had a state champ in the 100m a few years back. He ran a 4.5 handheld. Last person to run that fast in our region was 'Old School' or 'Southpaw'.

Gerhart easily below 4.4 he is an Olympic caliber sprinter!.. The younger Kanuch was timed at 4.3 (4.28 i think) at the PSU combine, it was done electronically by officials from Nike, I was there with two of my kids and it created a buzz! Immediately all the D1 coaches were talking to his coach. And before you speculate "uncle Tom" was not running the clock. They actually made him run it again and he ran another 4.3! He beat Larod by 20 meters in the LHAC 100 meter dash championship, but look who is playing on Sundays. 40 times do not guarantee football success but it will get you some big time looks. I have seen Oliver a number of times and my guess is he is in the 4.4 to 4.5 range which is still really fast! I agree with the previous post there are not that many 4.4s in the area but there have been a few!

I'll still take Richland by 14 Friday night.
