Penn State has offered the Johnstown star. Offers now include Pitt, PSU, WVU, and UVA and a few MAC schools. Top prospect in the D6 area for sure.

I've never seen this kid play, but from those that have...is he really this good??

Kareem has very fluid movements and has great technique playing corner. It's hard to be fully on display as a corner in high school, because passing games aren't that developed and a lot of the time is spent in run support, not to mention teams throwing away from him already. I'd say he's pretty physical given his stature, and he can knock bigger guys than him down. In his film, he tracked down that big Qb from Clearfield like 30 yards away, popped him pretty good and forced a fumble. The offers speak volumes for what kind of player he is. If you went to a Johnstown High game, you wouldn't have a lot of trouble picking him out after a play or two.

His offensive numbers aren't there with Johnstown being a pretty bad team the past two years, but when the ball is thrown his way or in his hands, he's capable of blowing by people. He's legit 4.5 speed and may have moved down to a 4.4 this Spring.

That sounds pretty impressive. 4.5...that is just freakin' quick. I'm definitely going to have to stop by Trojan Stadium this fall to see the kid. I love when any kid from the area gets D1 offers like that!

Crimson: Would you, personally, rate him better than Antuan Reed?

Antwaun was really good, and he made a big impact at the HS level because he was a very good running back as well. Reed also started two years for Pitt at corner, and did pretty well. Gibson's offer sheet is better already, and I think he's more athletic. So the ceiling between the two, can Gibson start at least 2 years on BCS level team like Reed did? I think he can. The extra BCS offers would suggest Gibson is the better of the two IMO.

His numbers aren't there b/c he missed multiple games last year. His combine numbers must be off the chart and carry a lot of weight with colleges.

Yeah they actually had him playing strictly defense for a number of games.

If he is such a superior athlete and has a chance to go D1 what's that say about the coaching staff not getting him the ball more.
