2-3 last week (15-4 season)

Central (4-2) @ Philipsburg-Osceola (1-5)...The Dragons ran into a buzz-saw in Chestnut Ridge last week and were held to without a TD for the first time since 7-0 loss in 2009 district semifinal game vs Tyrone (92 straight games). The Dragons have 2 big games the next 2 weeks (Bellefonte & Huntingdon) but need to right the ship this week. P-O has lost 5 straight following a 48-24 loss to Penns Valley. Central 56 P-O 0.

Huntingdon (6-0) @ Bald Eagle Area (3-3)...The Bearcats had a scare last week and it wasn't just the 14-0 early deficit to Juniata but stud RB Ian Border being carted off the field with an injury. Fortunately for Huntingdon the team bounced back for a 38-20 win but even bigger was Border returning late in the game. The Eagles after starting 3-0 continue on a downward spiral after a close 27-19 loss to Tyrone. The Eagles have some nice pieces including sophomore QB Jordan Jones but they may struggle to find another win the rest of the regular season. Look for Border to crack the 1,000 yard mark on the season this week en route to an easy Bearcat win. Huntingdon 48 BEA 8.

Penns Valley (2-4) @ Bellefonte (5-1)...The Rams managed to pick up their 2nd win of the season by upending P-O 48-24.The Red Raiders of Bellefonte continue to be the surprise team in the Mountain League this year. The offense continues to put up some impressive #s since making the switch to Dylan Deitrich at QB in week 2. Last week vs Clearfield, Deitrich accounted for 7 TDs (6 rushing, 1 passing) in a big 55-28 win over the Bison. Since week 1 Bellefonte has scored 31+ in every game including their loss to Huntingdon. The Red Raiders have a big game @ Central next week. Could they get caught looking ahead? It won't matter. Bellefonte 48 Penns Valley 16.

Tyrone (2-4) @ Clearfield (3-3)...Tyrone thrust itself back into the AAA playoff picture with a much needed 27-19 win over BEA last week. The Eagles got the running game going this week behind Brandon Loose and if they are smart will lean heavily on it again this week. In the Bison's 3 losses they are giving up an average of 386 ypg on the ground (Central 368, Huntingdon 383 & Bellefonte 409). Offensively Clearfield can move it up and down the field through the air with the best of them (262 passing yards/game) led by JR QB Isaac Rumery and his 1573 yards passing and 18 TDs. This is a big game for both teams as they both currently cling to the last playoff spot in their respective classifications. Clearfield 35 Tyrone 21.
