4-0 last week (19-4 season)

Philipsburg-Osceola (1-6) @ Huntingdon (7-0)...The Mounties are coming in off a 55-0 drubbing at the hands of Central and will likely be in for more of the same this week. Huntingdon meanwhile took care of BEA 45-0. Bearcats kept the load light for stud RB Ian Border and would not be crazy to do more of the same this week. No matter how light the workload look for Border to crack the 1,000 yard mark this week as he needs just 25 yards. Huntingdon has the big matchup with Central next week. Huntingdon 56 PO 0.

Tyrone (2-5) @ Hollidaysburg (4-3)...The Golden Eagles fell to Clearfield 35-7 last week and things only get tougher this week. Tyrone was able to get the running game going behind 122 yards from Brandon Loose but were unable to find paydirt until late in the 4th quarter against a below average Bison defense. Fortunately for Tyrone nobody else at the bottom of the D6-AAA playoff picture seems to be fairing much better and the Eagles will likely hold on to one of the last 2 spots. A win next week vs Penns Valley would go a long way in helping them do so.The Tigers come in with a 4-3 record but play a much tougher schedule than most. With wins already over Central, Brashear & Allderdice and losses to powers State College and Fort Hill (MD) the Tigers are extremely battle tested and will be way more than Tyrone can handle. Hollidaysburg 45 Tyrone 7.

Chestnut Ridge (6-1) @ Penns Valley (2-5)...The Lions continued to put up the points this past week with a 45-14 win over Mountain Ridge (MD). Ridge is averaging 42 ppg and has scored 38+ in all 6 of their wins. Senior QB Logan Hauck continues to lead the attack with 945 yards passing and 9 TDs while completing 64% of his passes and rushing for 666 yards and 13 more TDs. Will be interesting to see how serious the injury to Phillip Dull is as he may be the best overall athlete on that team. Penns Valley comes in off a tough 35-20 loss to 6-1 Bellefonte. A game in which the Rams actually led 6-0 at halftime and QB Aaron Tobias threw for 343 yards. Penns Valley is not a bad program. Is there any other team you can think of that plays EVERY game on their schedule against teams of a larger class? The Rams will be over-matched in this one. Chestnut Ridge 42 Penns Valley 13.

Bald Eagle Area (3-4) @ Clearfield (4-3)...BEA started the season with 3 wins and may very well end the season with 3 wins. Like Tyrone however they will benefit from a week bottom half of the D6-AAA class and likely claim a playoff spot (Bedford also in that mix). The Bison continued their up and down season with a 35-7 win over Tyrone last week and has 2 very winnable games the next 2 weeks (BEA & PO). Junior QB continues to lead the vaunted Bison passing attack. The question just remains, how many points will they need to score? In their 3 losses they have given up an average of 47 ppg. Clearfield 42 BEA 21.

Bellefonte (6-1) @ Central (5-2)...The Red Raiders are off to one of their best starts in recent memory and come into Roaring Spring looking for one more signature win. While the offense has been putting up the points this year they were surprisingly trailing 6-0 at home against Penns Valley last week. The Bellefonte defense has been giving up points (24 ppg) but for the most part the offense led by QB Dylan Deitrich has done more than enough to make up for it. Deitrich has 709 yards passing and 7 TDs to go along with 855 yards and 12 TDs on the ground. The Dragons balanced offensive attack continues to be led by senior RB Trystan Detwiler (831 rushing, 8.7 ypc, 12 TDs) and the defense led by senior studs Austin Garner & Jared Smith. The Red Raiders are a very good team and the Dragons cannot get caught looking ahead to next weeks big clash with undefeated Huntingdon or they will walk out with an L this week. I think the better defense wins this week. Central 35 Bellefonte 20.
