Best Small School Conference

Now that it is close to the end of the year I think it is time to discuss which conference was the better one this year.  The West Pac, Heritage, or the ICC?

The ICC is by far this year the most dominant of the three this year. Yes, I know, that LV would destroy every team in the ICC but that is one team. As a whole, Northern won D5, JV beat NC, Claysburg beat PM. If it was a head to head with the other two, the ICC would no doubt post a 7-3 record versus the Heritage or the West Pac.

Heritage. Homer would win the ICC this year.

Northern Bedford beat what is probably the 4th best team in the WestPAC by only a field goal. Windber has been a one trick pony, I think Ferndale would've beat them in a second match up. I think you could make the argument that the ICC and WestPAC are practically identical. In a head to head, flip a coin. The Heritage is the better conference simply because LV offsets the match ups. Berlin/HC/Bellwood would've been great competitive games, but LV would've blown out Bellwood like Berlin.

Heritage Conference is the better conference this year.  Bellwood won the conference and lost to a 6-4 team.  Southern Huntingdon got smoked by Cambria Heights, who then went to LV and got dominated.  Yeah Norhtern Bedford beat Windber, but so did Northern Cambria.  Actually Northern Cambria's #34 is still running past Windber kids.  He had over 275+ yards on the ground that game.  Windber is the 4th best team in the WestPac.  NB is the 2nd best team in the ICC.  I don't think NB beats Portage or Berlin.

I too think Homer Center would've won the ICC or WestPac this year.  They are very good and when it's all said and done, they will be 11-2 with out any hardware to show for it.

I actually thought the ICC was down this year and they're usually behind the West PAC or Heritage anyways.

I'd rank them based off of what the playoffs

Heritage - because Ligonier and Homer are the two best teams among the three conferences in my opinion.
WestPAC - I think Berlin was pretty good, just ran into a 2 week buzzsaw.
ICC - The playoff results outside of Northern Bedford were very uninspiring.

Heritage was the best, followed by WestPac, and then the ICC. Northern Bedford's win of D5 was great, but they didn't have to play the top three WestPac teams (Berlin is AA, Portage is D6, and Ferndale is D6) to win it. Juniata Valley had a nice win over Northern Cambria, but otherwise the ICC did not have a good district showing.
