State Semifinals Preview
6A
Friday 7pm @ Downingtown West
Coatesville (13-1) vs St. Joseph's Prep (12-0)...SJP is currently the 7th ranked team in the country by USA Today. They are led by a stout defense that's giving up 7 ppg on the season. Coatesville has some nice athletes including SO QB Ricky Ortega (2,800+ yards passing, 36 TDs), JR RB Aaron Young (1632 yards rushing, 32 TDs) and SR CB Avery Young who is a Rutgers commit.
Saturday 1pm @ Mansion Park
Manheim Township (12-1) vs Pine-Richland (14-0)...MT is led by SR QB Luke Emge (1716 passing, 24 TDs, 6 INTs, 454 rushing, 8 TDs) and do everything RB Grayson Sallade (1313 rushing, 17 TDs, 214 receiving, 2 TDs & 3 return TDs). MT's lone loss came at the hands of 5A's Gov. Mifflin. Pine-Richland as everyone is well aware is led by stud Notre Dame QB commit Phil Jurkovec, a finalist for the US Army National Player of the Year award. Jurkovec on the year has thrown for 3,518 yards, 36 TDs to just 4 INTs and is completing passes at an impressive 76% completion rate. Oh by the way he has also rushed for over 1k yards and another 19 TDs. The Rams weapons don't stop there. RB Jordan Crawford (1153 rushing, 28 total TDs), WR Raymond Falcone (Lehigh commit), WR Jason Defrancisis (64 rec, 1062 yards, 10 TDs) & West Allegheny transfer RB Kenny White who holds a power 5 offer from Iowa St.

Friday 7pm @ NE Philadelphia
Unionville (13-1) vs Archbisop Wood (10-2)...Unionville comes into this contest averaging 35 ppg while allowing 17. Their lone loss this season was to 6A Downingtown East. They will have their hands full with a loaded Archbishop Wood squad that is back to defend their 5A state title. Some of the big names on the Wood team to watch out for...RB/S Nasir Peoples (VA Tech commit), TE Kyle Pitts (Florida commit), LB Matt Palmer (Rutgers offer). AW's 2 losses this year have come at the hands of Paramus Catholic out of NJ and St. Joseph's Prep.

Manheim Central (13-0) vs Gateway (13-1)...MC averages 45 ppg and is led by SO QB Evan Simon who has thrown for over 2k yards and 22 TDs. On the ground they are led by JR RB Tyler Flick (1,467 yards, 16 TDs). Simon's favorite target is SR WR Jake Novak (57 rec, 1160 yards, 14 TDs). Last week MC took down Governor Mifflin who the previous week knocked off many's favorite to come out of the west in Harrisburg. The Gators are led by the leading passer in PA, SR QB Brady Walker. Walker has thrown for 3,877 yards and 41 TDs thus far in 2017. JR WR Courtney Jackson leads the team with an impressive 78 rec, 1621 yards and 20 TDs. Another Gator to keep an eye on is Freshman...yes Freshman...DB Derrick Davis who already holds a Pitt offer.

Imhotep Charter (12-1) vs Bethlehem Catholic (12-2)...Imhotep is led by 4 star DB and PSU commit Isheem Young and a defense that is giving up 8 ppg on the season. IC lost their season opener to Harrisburg and will be looking to make a repeat trip to Hershey after falling short in the title game last year. Bethlehem Catholic is looking to revenge their 24-13 Eastern Final loss to Imhotep from last year. BECA's 2 losses this season were to two 6A squads in Parkland & Freedom.
Friday 7pm @ Somerset
Berks Catholic (13-0) vs Cathedral Prep (12-0)...Berks power running attack is led by Syracuse commit Cooper Lutz (1380 rushing, 28 total TDs) and a defense that is giving up just over 7 ppg. Cathedral Prep is looking to defend their state title and is led by several big name players...4* OL Fredrick Scruggs (PSU commit), 4* LB Matt Bauer (Notre Dame commit), WR Terry Roberts (Iowa commit) & QB Joe Mischler (Ohio commit) lead an offense scoring 45 ppg.
Finals Prediction: Imhotep Charter vs Cathedral Prep

Friday 7pm @ North Hills
Sharon (10-3) vs Quaker Valley (12-1)...Sharon WR Ziyon Strickland leads the charge with an impressive 82 rec, 1335 yards and 18 total TDs. Strickland is a threat every time he touches it.
Saturday 1pm @ West Chester
Conwell-Egan (7-6) vs Middletown (13-0)...Middletown looks to get back to the title game after losing to Beaver Falls 30-13 in Hershey last year.
Finals Prediction: Sharon vs Middletown

Friday 7pm @ Danville HS
Southern Columbia (14-0) vs Dunmore (14-0)...SC comes in averaging a state best 51 ppg while Dunmore is allowing 6.5 ppg. Southern Columbia SO WR Julian Fleming is currently ranked as the #1 WR recruit and #5 overall recruit for the class of 2020. Fleming already holds offers from PSU, Michigan, Michigan St., Pitt, VT, WVU and others.
Friday 7pm @ Slippery Rock
Wilmington (13-0) vs Washington (13-0)...Wilmington comes into this one with the #1 defense in the state having given up a total of 63 points on the season (4.8 ppg). Offensively they have two 1,000 yard rushers and a 3rd that's only 125 away from the 1k mark himself.

Friday 7pm @ Hollidaysburg
Homer-Center (12-1) vs Steelton-Highspire (12-2)...Steel High was knocked out by D6 rep BG in this game last year. Homer-Center took care of BG in likely the biggest upset in D6 championship history last week.
Friday 7pm @ Seneca Valley
Jeannette (13-1) vs Farrell (11-2)...The Jayhawks lone loss on the season was to Clairton which they avenged in the D7 semis. Farrell is led by several athletes who are garnering some nice college interest. JR WR Jourdan Townsend has 66 rec for 1509 yards and 22 TDs to go along with an impressive 7 return TDs! Townsend holds an offer from Kansas State. JR LB Kyi Wright holds offers from UCLA, Pitt & Syracuse. The most impressive stat for Farrell however may be SR QB Isaac Clarke who has thrown for 30 TDs....and 1 INT!

Thanks Coach! I wanted to go a little more detailed on the smaller classes like I did the bigger classes but I got a late start and my alarm was going off at 4AM.
