I've been hearing for two years that Franco has been positioning himself to succeed Hayes. Not hard to understand why with the quality of the system from pee-wee on up. It will be interesting to see who ultimately gets the job to say the least.

Don’t know of a more consistent program in D6 than Bellwood, what a career for John Hayes.

Does Bellwood have anyone waiting in the wings to take over? Anyone on staff looking to be the next guy? Seems like they have a good system from peewee football on up.

Then why now, at end of April, if that is the case?

I would guess his offensive coordinator who is also the track coach.

Great coach and great program!  It was an honor to play against him in the playoffs in 1997(Laurel Valley) and then coach against him in the playoffs of 2007(Ligonier).  Congrats Coach Hayes!  Enjoy your retirement!

Nick Lovrich is the new football coach, he was on the staff as a coordinator previously and is the Head Boys T&F Coach.  He is retaining the same staff.
Charlie Birch, who is and will continue to be the JH Football coach takes the reigns as Athletic Director.
