ICC Week 2

NBC @ Southern Huntingdon - Thursday night football comes to the ICC.  Can the Panther defense stop the Rocket Offense?  I think they'll  slow them down some from their 400+ yard performance of a week ago but can their offense score enough points to win the game?  Southern 21 Northern Bedford 14
Everett @ Tussey Mt. - Two surprise winners from last week go at it in this all-Bedford County rivalry.  Which team is for real?  My gut tells me Tussey is for real and Everett, while obviously better than most thought, was fortunate to win last week.  Tussey 40 Everett 35 in a shootout.
Glendale @ Bellwood -  Bellwood gets to bounce back versus a Glendale team that's generally at the bottom of the standings.  But, this year I see Glendale as probable middle-of-the-pack and much better.  Nonetheless, Bellwood gets their first win in the Nick Lovrich era.  Bellwood 41 Glendale 14
Moshannon Valley @ West Branch - Another rivalry this week in the northern fringe of the ICC.  I'm picking Jon Dale to have a breakout night and Mo Valley to bounce back from last weeks defeat by edging their rivals.   Mo Valley 34 West Branch 20
Mount Union @ Juniata Valley -  This is a must win for Valley after last weeks shocking defeat.  MU is young and certainly Valley's experience and need to once again prove themselves after stubbing their toe at Everett leads me to believe that the Hornets and all their athletes get a home win.  Juniata Valley 41  Mount Union 6.
Williamsburg @ Claysburg - A Blair County rivalry game.  Claysburg got stung last week at Tussey which now has everyone questioning how good this team is.  They need this win to get back on track for a winning season and at home versus a Blue Pirate squad struggling with youth and numbers is just the medicine they need.  Claysburg 50 Williamsburg 12.

I agree with all ICCfans choices.

I’ll take Southern in a close game.
Tussey Mt. in a close game.
Bellwood in a comfortable win, but not a blowout.
Mo. Valley by 2 tds
JV by 1 td. (I believe JV isn’t as strong as predicted and MU’s defense was better than the score last week)
Claysburg in a blowout.

I'll take NBC close, Tussey close, Bellwood comfy, West Branch with the slight upset, Claysburg big, and JV big.  Heard the Trojan offense was way behind their D.

Well this time last week I was talking smack about Juniata Valley.
What a surprise JV and Claysburg.

So this is what I'm hearing. The grass on the Everett field was about 5-6 inches high.
Was that a home grown remedy to slow down Juniata Valley?
Now a good athlete in Collins for JV is said to have a broken collarbone and he is out.

Anyhow he I go.

The North battles the South tonight. Southern Huntingdon in a close one.

Glendale comes off the mountain to battle Bellwood. Final Glendale 1-1, Bellwood 1-1. By 13 points.

Mo Valley to defeat West Branch.

Everett @ Tussey. Interesting matchup. Everett has more starters returning, does that mean anything?
Going with the Warriors. gulp!

Trojans and Hornets. Another interesting matchup. I still question the stamina of the Hornets line.
However I'm sticking with my preseason pick even with the loss of Collins.

Battle of the Burgs. Going to be a long year for the Blue Pirates. No raising of the Jolly Roger this week.

NBC in a close one
Tussey goes 2-0 in a battle of surprise week one teams.. this is also close.
Bellwood by 4 or 5 touchdowns, but I'll say it will be closer than the score will indicate.
WB by 2 touchdowns
JV by 4 touchdowns
CK in a mercy rule blowout.

If you don't predict southern huntingdon to win every week you don't know anything about high school football, they're ball players!!
