What is going on with Hudy/ the qb position.  He had really good numbers but it doesn't  look like he is playing qb this year, have not seen much about the Bearcats this year, I am guessing he is hurt and can't throw but anyone have the full story?

Hudy moved his son to mostly defense (much needed) and put backup (Troha) in at QB. Still uses the younger Hudy some, he is a better scrambler, Troha is a better passer. Despite bringing back a lot of starters and letterman from last years (almost) championship run, they are really struggling this year.

Dad took him out in favor of soph in Bellefonte game think he’s been playing ever since. Not sure if it’s injury or what

First all it's Huntingdon ! I think coach Hudy finally gave in to the fans complaining his son was only playing because of him. Andrew still plays safety.

First post didn't make it, so I'll try again. Hudy needed his son to focus more on defense, which has been a weak link this year. He put his backup (Troha) in, who is a Jr (not a sophomore). True, Troha is a better passer, but the younger Hudy is a better playmaker and scrambler. I doubt he gave in to the fans, but rather saw what was best for the team at that point in the year. Tough call, especially being Dad/Coach. He has been using both QB's based on situation, but yes, Troha is the starter.

I would argue that it is more concerning that they are struggling this year, especially bringing back so many starters and letterman from a team that finished 2nd to FH last year. And I don't think it has anything to do with who was QB. Their defense was touted as best of D6 at the beginning of the year, but have proven otherwise.

Hudy has been focusing on safety and has played QB this season. He has been the starter since going in for injured Hudson Speck his freshman year. Troha has been his backup and is a year younger (junior). Troha is a talented QB and is probably a purer passer. Hudy has been great at stringing out plays and being more of an edgy rough running QB. This year the Bearcats have not been able to buy alot of time for the QBS so Troha's style has been a better fit. He makes quicker reads and gets the ball out there faster so he has been getting increasingly more snaps. Andrew has been very supportive and seems to be fine with the move because he understands as well what their strengths are and what the team needs. Rumor has it that Amdrew is also hurt but that remains to be confirmed. He mostly only handled kicking duties last week.
