Last week 5-0 (Overall 34-8)

Jersey Shore (4-4) @ Bald Eagle Area (7-1)...The Eagles are looking to bounce back after getting dismantled at the hands of Clearfield last week for their 1st loss of the season. Jersey Shore is a 4A school that is familiar with the Mountain League having lost a close one to Bellefonte 17-14 in the season opener. JS plays a pretty tough schedule having lost 62-7 last week to undefeated powerhouse Southern Columbia. Not only did the Eagles lose the game last week they also lost play maker Gage McClenahan to a lower body injury. His status will be key in the Eagles run for a district title. Philipsburg-Osceola (1-7) @ Clearfield (8-0)...The Bison made a statement last week with their 42-7 win at previously undefeated BEA and only P-O and Bishop Carroll stand in their way of wrapping up an undefeated regular season. QB Isaac Rumery continues to put up impressive #s leading an offense that's scoring 43 points per game. Through 8 games Rumery has thrown for 1692 yards, 18 TDs and only 1 interception while completing 69% of his passes. He has also ran for over 400 yards and another 7 TDs. Rumery's leading target, sophomore Jake Lezzer, tops the team with 35 receptions, 783 yards and 8 TDs. All of those stats should tick up significantly after this one. Bellefonte (6-2) @ Bishop Carroll (2-6)...The Red Raiders put an end to their 2 game losing skid with a tough 21-12 win over Central. The Bellefonte offense struggled to generate scoring drives in the 1st half and senior QB Kyle Myers was replaced by sophomore Ethan Rossman who went 5-10 with 2 second half TD passes to lead the comeback win. Bellefonte is pretty squarely locked into the 2 seed of the 4A playoffs with a likely 1st round matchup with Bradford. Meanwhile the small school Huskies will wrap up their regular season by facing the two 4A schools in the Mountain League. Bellefonte 42 Bishop Carrol 13

Central (3-5) @ Huntingdon (3-5)...Last year these 2 squads were co-champs of the Mountain League (w/Bellefonte). One year later both teams playoff hopes are on life support. Central battled and hung with a good Bellefonte team until the very end last week before losing 21-12. Not only did the Dragons lose the game but also lost senior QB leader Noah Muthler to a significant elbow injury that will end his season. Muthler had his hand in 20 Central touchdowns (11 rush/8 pass/1 rec) and will be missed. Junior Braden Kitt will get the start in his place. In his lone start earlier this season vs Penns Valley Kitt threw for 339 yards and 4 TDs. Huntingdon has had some questions at the QB position as well. Senior Andrew Hudy started the season under center but was then replaced by JR Nick Troha. Last week vs P-O the senior was back under center for the entire game. Both teams need this win along with a Tyrone loss to keep slim playoff hopes alive. A Bearcat win and Tyrone loss would set up a head to head next week with final spot in districts possibly at stake. Central 27 Huntingdon 26

Game of the Week
Tyrone (4-4) @ Penns Valley (5-3)...The Golden Eagles need a win here to stop their current downward spiral of 4 straight losses after starting the season 4-0. A win would also lock up a spot in the 3A playoffs. During their current skid Tyrone has struggled to put points on the board and is averaging less the 20 points per game on the season. They are going to need more than that this week. The Rams of PV come into the game averaging over 37 a game and have not scored less than 28 points in a game this season. Junior QB Aaron Tobias continues to light up defenses having throw for over 2200 yards to go along with 26 TDs. With a win this week and a match up with P-O next week the Rams could wrap up a 7-3 season and a home playoff berth in the 2A field. At this point PV has to be considered the most improved team in the league as they look to secure that home playoff game while making the Golden Eagles wait another week to clinch their spot. This should be a good game but I don't think Tyrone has the offensive fire power to keep up with the Rams at home. Penns Valley 29 Tyrone 22
