It's pretty simple. Facilities are refusing to clear their fields for play.

What does the PIAA pay...  like 100 bucks to the hosting facility and they dont get any of the gate...  Its no wonder people arent bothering to clear the fields.  It isn't worth the hassle.

I could be wrong but I believe they get whatever they charge in their bid plus concession

Which is why the PIAA should have a centrally located venue like Mansion Park for the finals, and maybe semi-finals.  Follow the MONEY!  Does it make more sense to have a hundred or so fans travel across the state, or have maybe 1,000 fans travel halfway or less to Altoona?  This weekend is a prime example, 1 game was supposed to be played there, now it's 4?  Makes sense to me if you're going to prep a facility for play for 1 game it's just as easy to do it for 4.  With double headers, the real die-hard football fan will show up for 2 games, pay for 2 games, spend $$ for fuel and food in area restaurants, etc.  Follow the money.
It ain't over until it's over.

Agreed, now planning to go to Shade vs Farrell, hit up some Pirmantti Brothers and then back for the night cap.

I was curious why Clarion U wasn't hosting since Clarion Area home games and many D9 playoff games are held at the stadium, but if the hosting facility is getting that little $$$, I don't blame them for choosing not to clear the field.
