CT had sixteen kids suited up for a Junior High game earlier this year.  Ferndale had eleven.  The two schools aren't that far away from each other.

I actually had heard a rumor of Conemaugh Township and North Star as possible co-op partners.

Two are legit retiring... any idea if Tony would be interesting in those two openings... or another job?

Are the co-ops mostly used for class A schools who struggle to make a team, or do schools ever cooperate in a larger sense? Like if two AA schools were close in proximity, could they have the option of joining and competing in a larger classification? Not sure why they'd want to - just curious.

Is Tony out for sure?  If so, will Blacklick Valley have an opening?  Will Fyfe retire at Shade?

Co-ops are generally used when one school offers a sport that another school does not. For example, Penn Cambria and Cambria Heights have a co-op in swimming.

Thanks knowitall. Now that you say that, I recall this happening a good bit with wrestling with Homer and Saltsburg kids wrestling at Blairsville.

I think if you go to Johnstown Christian, you play for Shade in most sports. I think they have a co-op with them.

I don't know if Penna has officially retired, but I have it on pretty good authority that he coached his last game at Johnstown.

Penna cooked his own goose with some shenanigans that went on behind the scenes.   His decision to honor the ousted former school board president with helmet decals was the final straw.   Carlton will be named head coach.
Rich Price knew that Penna was out and left a year early to take the Blacklick job.
