PIAA Messed Up

Word just came out, Richland plays FRIDAY at Central York High School in York at 2pm! Do they not have to consider travel time with thanksgiving? Really think the Piaa messed this one up. If the game has to be Friday have it at 7 at night for families to travel

Pretty common through the years to have playoff games the Friday afternoon following Thanksgiving. Not a new development.

I thought it was D6 turn to "host" this round. In '16 we played at Bald Eagle. Last year we had to travel to Hershey. Why Central York?

The real PIAA mess up is having a season be this long. In reality football should be over by thanksgiving

This year it flipped so whoever hosted last year is hosting again.  Bald Eagle gets to play at Mansion Park.

Football season is as long as: Wrestling and Basketball Season.  Those sports run from mid November to early March.
The spring seasons are slighty shorter due to the weather.  They begin in mid March and run until late May/early June.

Football is over for every school except for 40 in our state.  Prior to Thanksgiving nearly every school is finished. 
The playoffs are a money grab for the most part.  Teams that aren't in the top 4 of any district don't make the district finals for the most part.  However, those early round playoff games are still really fun and really important to the communities around here.

Teams who make finals play almost just as many games as a pro nfl team. They start in early august and go to mid november for most and mid december for some.
