Tribune said there were 9 applicants, wouldn't these names be in the school board minutes somewhere?  Just seems like a lot of names for a position that was already rumored to be Justin Meyers when Bailey retired.

WHO started those so-called rumors about Myers being next? Fans? Or someone with knowledge of the FH sports situation? There were 9 applicants for the job. TWO didn't complete all the paperwork necessary for consideration. One withdrew his application. One wanted a teaching job along with the coaching job. This left 5 finalists. Myers got the job. Call the school and find out who the 5 in consideration were. Inquiring minds want to know.

If you want to call it a rumor about Myers, thats OK, but from the get-go I had the feeling he was either equal to, or ahead of the rest as far as the position goes. Not because he was any more qualified than another, or had more experience than another, but just.....something. So maybe it was me who started the 'rumor' with expressing my feeling. Maybe someone else. Water under the bridge now.

From 6A offensive coordinator at Coatsville, to 6A head coach at Altoona now to 3A Penn Cambria?  Could Felus be another John Franco and find success at a lower level after failing at the top level.  Interesting seeing the former quarterbacks come back to their alma maters at FH, CC and PC.  How long until Crookshank is leading the Huskies?

It is very difficult for anyone to win at Altoona. The people there still believe that they are back in the 1960s when they had Mike Reid and John Ebersole and 10,000 people packed Mansion Park for home games. They still recall the battles with national powers like Massillon, Ohio, and think that is still possible.

This was not a ridiculous move for Felus because they have finally moved from the WPIAL, but John Franco is an outstanding coach and could not do much there in two tries. PC is fortunate to get Nick and he could be there for a long time. They have had trouble keeping coaches for long periods, and perhaps he can change that.

Justin Myers' situation is very different. He is a very knowledgable and talented coach, but following a legend like Don Bailey is tough for anyone. He deserves some time and could do well if people are patient, which FH fans notoriously are not.

Don probably stayed too long for the sake of the program, but it is hard to leave something like that when you have been there for almost half a century.

It's hard to have expectations when there isn't a lot of size or talent left in the paddock from the year before.

Felus will do well at Penn Cambria as long as Willey Marshall keeps his nose out of the program. Ask the former coaches at Westmont and PC about him.
