United’s Kyle Silk moves to Ligonier Valley

Post by knowitall »

“I had some personal problems at United.  I am looking for a fresh start”, Silk told the Tribune Democrat.

“We’re probably down to between 13 and 15 kids.  We’re hurting right now”, United coach Kevin Marabito said.

I'm surprised the Osborne St. counselors didn't "offer their help".

I'm sure the outrage would be much higher if he transferred there, of course.  I'm sure people won't be too bent out of shape a team that is 39-3 over the past three seasons got one of the best players in their own conference to transfer there for his senior year. Nothing wrong with that.

For the record, I don't care where Kyle Silk goes to High School. I hope he goes to Ligonier, they go 16-0 and win the state championship and he gets a college scholarship somewhere.

I just enjoy double standards....

I'm not a Bishop supporter, but this does prove the point that kids go where the best opportunity resides.  It just so happens this public school team has numbers and a thriving program.   Kind of like Southern Columbia on the other half of the state.
The real question is: will this upset those in the Heritage that want Ligonier gone.   Wonder how many teams will forfeit to them this year.

What a joke...What a clown show the PIAA is. Wonder who footed the bill for the house. Probably consulted with the Juniata Valley orthodontist.

Actually a move from United to Ligonier Valley could be as simple as crossing a street.

The article did say he actually resided in the Ligonier school district, but didn't say if he'd recently moved, or not. If not, then the next question would be how, or why, was he attending UNITED?

Parents from United are ripping this kid apart on Facebook. It is truly pathetic how grown adults will act toward a kid.
