Marion Center at Chestnut Ridge
Marion Center at Chestnut Ridge
Here's what TBone said the other day about Marion Center:
Here is a little bit about Marion Center.
Offense: strictly Wing-T
Defense: 4-4
Special Teams: good punter and x-point kicker
Analysis: MC is a run 90%, pass 10% team. If you force them to pass they are not as efficient. Their game-plan is to eat up the clock with slow drives to, hopefully score, but to keep the opponent’s offense off the field. When they do pass it is usually vertical routes or the standard wing-t waggle. They have a big fullback who runs hard and a QB that is pretty agile. Their halfbacks are average. Their line is big but young. In fact the whole team is made up of Juniors with very few seniors. Next year was to be their year but they were able to get into the AA bracket with a 7-2 record.
Key to beating them: Stop their long drives. Force mistakes. Their two losses came early in the year and were the results of many turnovers.
Key for winning: MC needs to do what they do best and that is control the ball without making any mistakes. If they can keep the game close they have a chance.
What's everyone think?

Re: Marion Center at Chestnut Ridge
Here's some info for the game:
Marion Center (7-2) - Lost two games by two points early in the season. Beat two playoff teams (United and Blairsville, 5 & 7 seed in A). Combined record of the teams Marion Center beat 27-36. The only AA school they played was Purchase Line (6-3) and they lost 20-19.
Chestnut Ridge (8-1) - Their only loss came from a playoff team (Bellwood-Antis, 3rd seed in A), all the rest of their opponents failed to make the playoffs. Combined record of the teams Chestnut Ridge beat 29-43. Chestnut Ridge played two AA schools; Penns Valley (2-7) and Everett (3-6).
There doesn't appear to be any numbers that jump out, funny how one team is a 3 seed and the other a 6 seed.
