A-Rod will NOT be a Yankee After This Season

Post by JungleJuice2 »

I say FACT on this one. A-Rod is looking terrible in the postseason up at this point and is on some thin ice. It would do the organization, the fans and himself a favor if he was traded after this season. I'm sure the Yanks could get an above average third basemen out of the deal that would surely produce better in the postseason than A-Rod has...

I love the Yankees. Ridicule me and laugh at me all you want. But I do NOT like A-Rod. Let him go. Bring back Aaron Boone, the Sox-killer.

With A-Rod's salary they could get 3 quality players, or they could buy the entire Pirates organization.

Who's going to pay his salary? The Yankees may get some talent in return, but they're going to have to pay a lot of his salary given the numbers he put up last year. The only team that normally would take on that type of salary would be the Mets. They have nowhere for him, so that trade won't be happening. I don't see A-Rod going anywhere, because the Yanks aren't going to trade him to Boston.

A-Rod will start the season with the yanks but i wouldn't be suprised to see him delt by the trade deadline if things don't seem to be getting better. Surely when things are heating up in July 07 someone will take that salery for his help in a playoff push. The yankees would have to eat a lot of the salery also so surely someone would take a chance on him. I think given the right situation A-Rod could do well in the postseason, but not in NYC.

I have a few things to say on this subject now that the season is over and the hot stove is really beginning to heat up with trades and negotiations. Whether or not A-Rod is going to be a part of the Yankees is a tough question, but I believe he will begin the 2007 season as a Yankee. After that, I can't really say for certain if they will deal him before the deadline in 2007.

A-Rod has been a slouch for the Yankees in the playoffs, I will say that. However, A-Rod is still one of the best overall baseball players in the game. I know that if I were starting up my own franchise and I had to choose a group of players to build my team around, Alex would be in that group. Many people forget that only 2 years ago he was the AL MVP. I don't know about you guys but I think that counts for something. This past season, known as a down year for A-Rod, included 35 homeruns and 121 RBI's (you can look those up, but they are right). If that's a down year I'd sure as hell like to have it.

Also, A-Rod not being able to handle the pressure in New York is an issue. I agree that there is more pressure to perform in Yankee Stadium then probably any other stadium in baseball; however, I find it ridiculous that A-Rod's own fans boo him. I don't care how good you are, if you come home, whether that home is New York or not, it is nice to be greeted with open arms. Did anyone think that maybe if they got off his back he may be able to pull out of his slumps? Did anyone think that if the New York media would quit writing about his down falls in the post season he wouldn't fall apart so easily?

People often say that if you don't perform in New York then it is expected that you get booed and taunted. I think thats a crying shame. If you are a true fan then you stand by your players and your team through the good times and the bad. You don't boo players that are working their asses off to win games and please you. A true fan would say, "Hey he'll pull through. Hang in there A-Rod." Other people slump in the playoffs but people only focus on A-Rod. Do you know why? Because he's great! People who boo him and say he does not deserve to be a Yankee need to just be quiet and let him play the game. Give the guy a break. He's better then you or me that's fur sure. The day my numbers are better then his, I'll begin to criticize. Until then I say, good luck A-Rod.
